  • The Lodge at Canine Field Co (herby referred to as The Lodge) provides the ideal boarding environment for your dog. Our boarding program gives your pup the opportunity to exercise, and relax, all in a healthy environment designed just for them. Your pup will have a blast living the dream in our safe, social, and supervised setting!

    Vaccinations

The Lodge requires a vaccination record or an invoice from a licensed veterinarian documenting current vaccinations. Vaccinations should be administered at least 10 days prior to arrival. We require our guests to be current on the following vaccinations.

    • Rabies Vaccine

    • Distemper/Parvovirus Vaccine: distemper, hepatitis, parvo, and parainfluenza per your veterinarian’s protocol, which may be listed as DA2PP, DHLP or DHLPP on your dog’s medical record when administered as a combination.

    • Bordetella Vaccine: prevents against most strains of canine cough; we do everything possible

to reduce the risk of your dog getting canine cough; however, the vaccine does not prevent against all strains; updated every six months.

    • (We highly recommend) Canine Influenza Vaccine: H3N8 and H3N2; the first time your dog receives this vaccination an initial shot followed by a booster two to four weeks later is required.

    Health

All dogs must be in good general health to attend group play. Any dog known to have been exposed to a contagious virus must wait at least 30 days and have clearance from his or her veterinarian before visiting The Lodge.

    Flea and Tick Prevention

We require our guests be treated with an oral or topical flea and tick preventative. We cannot accept flea and tick collars as the only form of prevention. If fleas or ticks are found on a dog, he or she will be bathed and treated immediately, at the parent’s expense. Our minimum charge for this treatment is $30, in addition to the bathing charge.

    Interaction

At least 10 days prior to arrival, we request that guests refrain from visiting veterinarians’ offices, grooming salons, day camps, dog shows, or other places where they may possibly be exposed to a contagious virus. We may ask that group play visits be delayed until this request is met.

    Internal Parasites

If internal parasites are discovered, the dog will be removed from group play and the parent will be called to discuss a plan of action regarding veterinary treatment. A negative test for internal parasites will be required prior to the next visit to The Lodge. Behaviour Dogs may not be accepted for boarding if they show signs of, or have a history of, severe aggression or separation anxiety. A daily handling fee of $30 may be charged for dogs that are difficult to manage. We reserve the right to decline service to any dog or individual.

    Minimum Age

We welcome puppies who are emotionally mature enough to enjoy playing in groups with dogs of various ages. The appropriate age will be different for each dog. Individual playtime may be a great alternative for your puppy if he or she is not ready for group play.

    Personal Items

We ask for your cooperation in limiting the number of belongings you bring for your dog. Please ensure bedding or toys you bring can be safely sanitized daily using our commercial- grade equipment and clearly label all belongings with your dog’s name.

    Bedding/Toys

Our guest rooms are well-appointed with comfortable platform beds and cozy blankets. Puppies participating in puppy training or in our board and train program will have crates in their room if crate training is indicated. If you prefer to bring your dog’s own bedding, we accept one small blanket or towel per dog. Large items and stuffed bedding cannot be accepted. Each dog may also bring two toys form home to enjoy in his or her room during the day. Please be aware items may be lost or damaged due to our daily cleaning procedures. We cannot be responsible for items left with us.

    Meals/Treats

We offer our guests premium Pro Plan dog Kibble during their stay at no additional charge. We feed a yummy chicken and rice flavour in puppy, adult and small breed formulas. This food is generally easy on the digestive system, and we typically do not see issues in feeding it to our guests. We believe it is a high-quality food and feed it to our own furry family members. Adult dogs are served two meals a day, breakfast in the morning and dinner in the late afternoon. Puppies are served three meals a day. Adult dogs who wish to be served a third daily meal will incur a meal fee of $3 per day. You are welcome to provide your dog’s food from home for shorter stays. Please bring a supply of food for your pup’s visit, or a little extra, in a small plastic container. We do not have storage space for large quantities of personal food; however, we will be happy to store food for extended stays. If you would like us to serve your dog more than one food type or ingredient per meal, for example, kibble mixed with wet food, or if food requires heating prior to serving, a $3 food preparation fee will be incurred, per meal. Please let us know if your dog is on a special diet or could be allergic to the house treats that we offer our guests. You are welcome to provide treats from home for your dog.

    Medication and Supplements

We will be happy to maintain your dog’s health regimen during his or her visit by administering oral or topical medications, vitamins, or supplements, including heartworm and flea and tick medication. Please bring medication in the original prescription container labeled with your dog’s name and dosage. Items are typically administered in conjunction with the time that we feed breakfast and dinner. A daily fee of $3 will apply for each dog that requires medication and /or supplements. Dogs that require many multiple medications and/or supplements or require them to be administered at times other than breakfast and dinner, may incur an additional fee.

    Check-In

Standard check-in begins at 12 noon. Guests may check-in prior to 12 noon by paying a $30 early check-in fee, per dog. We request that first-time visitors arrive no later than 2pm, and all other guests arrive at least one hour prior to the time our lobby closes.

    Check-out

Standard check-out is by 12 noon. Guests may check-out after 12 noon by paying a late check-out fee equal to the overnight room rate, per dog.

    Extended Check-Out

We provide a complimentary extended check-out until 3pm for dogs that visit our luxury spa for full bathing or grooming services on the day of check-out.

    Dog Pick-Up

If you need to have a friend or relative pick up your dog, please notify our staff in advance. We will not release a dog to anyone other than his or her parent without advance notification from the parent.

    Room Assignments

We make every effort to ensure that our guests enjoy their vacation away from home. We reserve the right to re-assign dogs to different rooms if they exhibit destructive or disruptive behaviours.

    Room Sharing

Dogs that live in the same household together may share a room.

    Access to Guest Rooms

We have found that it is best for our guests if parents do not accompany their dog when he or she enters or leaves the boarding area.

    Routine Care and Vaccinations

Certain dogs may react differently to new environments and separation form their parents. In non-emergency situations (e.g., diarrhea, loss of appetite), we will contact you to discuss the best course of action for your dog. Our fee for obtaining vaccinations for your dog is $60, plus the veterinarian fee, along with a 3% service charge.

    Medical Care

If your dog should require medical attention while in our care, our customary procedure is to contact you or your emergency contact to discuss the best course of action for your dog. Should the nature of your dog’s illness require a visit to the veterinarian, we typically utilize a veterinarian of our choice. Our fee for transporting your dog to and from the veterinarian during lobby hours is $80 plus wait time, if any. Our fee for transporting your dog outside of lobby hours will be based on specific circumstances. Our fee for wait time at the veterinarian is $1 per minute. Costs of care that we pay on your dog’s behalf will be billed to you, along with a 3% service charge.

    Lobby Hours

Our lobby hours are 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm.

    Holidays

Our lobby will be closed for pick-up/drop-off on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Boxing Day. Other special lobby hours may apply during holidays. Please contact us for details.

    Deposits and Cancellation Policy

We require a credit card to be placed on file and a $50 deposit for boarding reservations, for each room reserved. The deposit is applied to your final bill upon check-out; however, the deposit will be forfeited for no-shows, late cancellations, or late reservation charges that reduce the number of nights reserved. For holiday and certain peak season reservations, a deposit refund of 80% of the deposit, or full account credit, will be provided for cancellations or reservation changes made seven (7) days or more prior to arrival date. For other reservations, a deposit refund of 80% of the deposit, or full account credit, will be provided for cancellations or reservation changes made three (3) days or more prior to the arrival date. We require a three-night minimum stay on holidays and certain peak season dates.

  • The Lodge at Canine Field Co (herby referred to as The Lodge) provides the ideal group play environment for your dog. Our doggie daycare program gives your pup the opportunity to meet new friends, exercise, and play, all in a healthy environment designed just for them. Your pup will have a blast living the dream in our safe, social, and supervised setting!

    Application Process

To ensure the enjoyment and safety of our participants, an evaluation is given to assess your dog’s social skills in an organized group setting. This evaluation is a one-day process designed to ensure that your dog will enjoy and thrive in our group play program. The evaluation process is the first step to help ensure that your dog has a fun social experience. If your dog is staying overnight with us, we typically perform the group play evaluation after check-in; a special trip to The Lodge is not required. All others should call us to schedule an appointment for your dog to come in for the evaluation. The evaluation cost is a one- time fee of $20. This fee is waived for pups participating in puppy training or in our board and train program.

    Behavior Monitoring

For the safety of all group play participants, we continuously monitor the behaviour of our participants, since a dog’s behaviour can change over time. If a dog’s social skills become unsuitable, group play privileges will be suspended. In addition, dogs who have not participated in group play for over three months will be watched closely. If such dog’s behaviour changes such that it imposes a safety risk to other dogs or to themselves, group play privileges will be suspended.

    Hours

For dogs visiting for the day, The Lodge daycare is held from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. For dogs visiting for the day, we ask that you drop your dog off between 7 am and 9 am. All dogs, unless they are overnight guests, should be picked up by 5 p.m. Group play is typically held daily for overnight guests with check-in and check-out in accordance with our boarding policies. Any time outside these hours is subject to additional fees. To ensure that there is availability for your dog to participate in doggie day care on the days you prefer, reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance. Dogs that have been approved for attendance play may be included in our doggie daycare program in one of three ways.

    (1) Standing Reservation

Dogs with standing reservations have reservations for a specific day (or days) of the week. The dog attends doggie daycare on the same day (or days) of each consecutive week on an ongoing basis. Standing reservations are available with the purchase of a daycare pass.

Doggie daycare passes are available for $300 or $1,200. The $300 pass offers 10 visits + one free visit, totalling 11 visits. The $1,200 pass offers 40 visits + five free visits, totalling 45 visits. Doggie daycare passes are not applicable to overnight boarding.

    (2) Call-In

Parents of dogs with or without standing reservations may email, call, or text The Lodge to inquire about availability. Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance. If space is available, your dog can attend doggie daycare. The cost is $35 per day.

    (3) While Boarding

Dogs may make a reservation to participate in daycare when they are boarding overnight. The cost is $15 per day.

Polices Applicable to Doggie Daycare Standing Reservations

    • Standing reservations are available for customers who pre-purchase a doggie daycare pass. Passes make payment convenient, and they offer free days in daycare based on the quantity of days purchased.

    • Standing reservations are specific to the individual day of the week that is scheduled. Standing reservations must be for the same day each week and must be scheduled for at least one day every other week. The specific day of the reservation may be changed if there is an opening on a different day.

    • Standing reservations and doggie daycare passes cannot be shared among dogs from different families.

    Dirty Dogs

One of the great benefits of daycare play at The Lodge is playing in our large play areas. Play in outdoor areas will cause some dogs to get dirty (especially on rainy days) while rolling in the grass. Dogs may also get dirty playing with other dogs indoors. Our staff will do their best to clean up dirty dogs; however, the primary role of our daycare and group play staff is to supervise the dogs, not to provide a bath before dogs go home. As an alternative, you may schedule a bath for your dog in our spa.

    Treats

Treats are provided by The Lodge unless your dog has a specific food allergy or is on a special diet. Please let us know if your dog is on a special diet or could be allergic to the house treats that we offer.

    Dog Pick-Up

If you need to have a friend or relative pick up your dog, please notify our staff in advance. We will not release a dog to anyone other than his or her parent without advance notification from the parent.

    Non-Emergency Care

Certain dogs may react differently to new environments and separation from their parents, and there is some risk that even dogs from the same family may play roughly and injure each other when playing together. In the event your dog should need non-emergency care while attending group play, we will contact you to discuss the best course of action for your dog.

    Emergency Care

If your dog should require emergency medical attention while in our care, our customary procedure is to contact you or your emergency contact to discuss the best course of action for your dog. Should the nature of your dog’s illness require a visit to the veterinarian, we reserve the right to utilize a veterinarian of our choice. Our fee for transporting your dog to and from the veterinarian during lobby hours is $30 plus wait time, if any. Our fee for transporting your dog outside of normal hours will be based on specific circumstances. Our fee for wait time at the veterinarian is $1 per minute. Costs of care that we pay on your dog’s behalf will be billed to you, along with a 3% service charge.

    Scheduling

The Lodge reserves the right to temporarily limit or suspend doggie day care from time to time to provide the best care for the dogs entrusted to us. For example, doggie day care, for dogs not visiting for overnight boarding, may be suspended in conjunction with certain holidays to allow us to devote our full attention to overnight guests.

    Cancellations

There is no deposit requirement or cancellation fee for doggie daycare reservations. Please call us at least 24 hours in advance to let us know that your dog cannot attend his or her scheduled day in group play.

All rates and services are subject to availability and change.

Please note that The Lodge reserves the right to refuse services based on any dog’s temperament or health.

    Prices

Specific prices for bathing, grooming and certain other spa services are determined through consultation and vary depending on breed, size, coat condition, and cooperation in grooming.

    Services

If your dog becomes too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, we have the right to refuse spa and grooming services, stop services, or cancel services at any time before, during, or after such services begin.

    Aggression

Failure to disclose that your dog is a known biter or is dangerous may cause serious harm to our staff or to other dogs. Dogs who are known biters or are aggressive must be handled differently than those who are not. You will be responsible for all payments of all medical expenses, emergency medical treatments, hospital costs, and recovery costs including physical therapy, incurred by any person employed or contracted by The Lodge, or by any officer or owner of The Lodge, for any bites, harm, or damage, caused by your dog(s) should medical treatment be necessary.

    Muzzling

Some dogs may require muzzling during all or part of the grooming process. Muzzling is only done when necessary to ensure the safety of both the dog and the groomer and it will not harm your dog. Muzzling may calm a stressed dog, allowing the grooming process to continue. If a muzzled dog continues to act in a way that is dangerous, we have the right to stop spa and grooming services at any time.
